Taishun County is situated in southwest Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province. Taishun enjoys the reputation of "China Ancient Bridges Museum"for its large quantities of different old veranda bridges. All these bridges are house-shaped with single-opening span. The huge but symmetrical logs which extend one after another to form the bridges are arranged in a crisscross pattern and support each other. Their complete brace-structured arch framework is similar to the rainbow bridge shown in Qingming Shanghe Painting. Sixi Upper Bridge and Sixi Down Bridge are representatives of Taishun gallery bridges which are exquisitely constructed, simple, unsophisticated but majestic in appearance. They are truthfully classical works of Chinese arch wood bridge.
The ancient people's abiding place in Taishun is a singular splendor in the south of the Changjiang River. Its complete constructer, exquisite sculpt and classic style are not only different from the orderliness and majesty of northern architecture but also from the elegant and graceful southern style. It contains a sort of charm carved by nature?and uniquely designed without canonical and systemic mode, but well matches local conditions. All the different kinds of ancient houses in Taishun are really a fantastic wonder.

Taishun is richly endowed by nature. DongGong Mountain winds its way across the land from northwest to southeast, more than hundred cloud-capped peaks tower to the skies. People can not only see majestic sights of emerging mountains and clouds, but also pleasant scenery of quiet huts and green brooks. In addition, there are folklores of She Nationality, local puppet show, local snacks and folk craftwork.
There are about 900 ancient bridges of different kind in Taishun,among which arch veranda wood bridge and stone frusta are particularly famous.
Shishui Stone Frusta lies across the broad hirst in the east of Shixi River,which was built up during Jiaqing Ages in Qing Dynasty,it consists of 223 step teeth with a total length of 133 meters.The step teeth have high-low lines which makes it possible for passers-by give way to each other conveniently.The high-low lines are respectively made of white and green granites which are deeply lain into the river.The distinctly-contrasted hues look elegant and pleasant,which also help night goers walk across the stones in the moonlight.
